There were days when Buick was a forgotten thing but they have already passed away. The company has prepared a great surprise for everyone. Having a 112-year history, 2016 Buick Avenir was designed for future. Even its name speaks for it – “Avenir” means “future” in French. It is a big flagship sedan that inherited all the company’s best technologies and the all-new ones.
A first impression of Avenir is magnificent, taking into account its fabulous and luxury design with sporty and expressive styling. A new model looks like a hatchback built on a new large Omega platform. It will boast of full LED prolonged tail- and headlights, 21/22-inch wheels, and a redesigned grille with a large firm logo placed on an unusually (for Buick) long hood. Every detail is made of only two materials – glass and aluminum, so plastic wasn’t used for its production.
Inside the 2016 Buick Avenir you will definitely find sensitive colors, comfort and lots of personal space. Its infotainment system is also expected to be of a next generation and include a 7/12-inch color dashboard display and the two additional ones built into the back side of the front seats. In the higher and more expensive car versions the trim will be made of leather combined with satin chrome accents and buffed wood. Perhaps, the seats (only for four of them which are extremely comfortable, individual and separated) will be even ventilated and heated.
You’ll also have a possibility to charge your mobile device wirelessly and connect it to a Wi-Fi spot. The car will synchronize fully with all the driver’s devices linked to his profile. After the start, Buick will identify the driver and connect automatically to all his linked gadgets to provide you with an incredible driving experience.
Under the hood one will find a V6 direct-injected engine of a next generation that produces more than 400 horsepower. There exist suggestions that it will be a 3.6L twin-turbocharged engine with an option of cylinder deactivation that helps in saving fuel. It will work together with a 9-speed automatic transmission and transfer the power to all wheels or to the rear ones, depending on a car variant.
Price and Release
There are no precise figures, but analytics expect the automobile pricing policy won’t be less than $60,000. The earliest event of 2016 Buick Avenir public presentation may become 2015 LA Auto Show with the sales starting in spring of the following year.
